Yes, we are accepting New Patients (for consultation, not primary care.)
We see patients in-person at our Seattle office for initial consultations and case reviews. Once the doctor-patient relationship is well-established, we can consider follow-up appointments via phone. We do not see patients who live outside the state of Washington.
No, we do not contract with any insurance providers (but you can request reimbursement from your plan. See below**)
We DO NOT see patients with Medicare due to Medicare law regulations as they apply to Dr. DeBell.
Please review this full page, and if you are interested in becoming a patient, please complete the patient registration form and choose an available appointment from the "request appointment" button on the patient portal. We are NOT a primary care practice. Please provide us with the name of your primary care provider during the initial visit. If your insurance company assigns Dr. DeBell as your primary care provider, this is an error. Please request a different PCP from your insurer.
Payment for all services is required at the time of care. We accept debit and credit cards.
Initial Consultation / 90 minutes / $275
At the initial consultation, Dr. DeBell will review your medical history, symptoms and concerns. We want to understand your current way of living, including nutrition, sleep, movement and sources of stress. We will order lab testing based on your symptoms and history and suggest initial lifestyle changes. We will check in with you about a week after the consultation to see if you have any questions about the suggested testing and recommendations.
Case Review including Interpretation of Lab Results and Initial Plan / 60 - 90 minutes / $485
At the Case Review appointment we will review your detailed health history, and the results of your initial lab testing. You will receive a written, comprehensive plan (usually 4-6 pages) detailing recommended steps towards healing. This will include changes in sleep, movement, and nutrition, as well as supplements and possibly medication. (Phone or In-Person)
Follow-Up Visits (Phone or In-Person)/ 45 minutes / $225
At Follow-Up visits we evaluate your response to the treatment plan and discuss additional diagnostic testing, supplements, and medications as needed. The number of follow-up visits will vary based on condition. In general, the longer a person has been ill, the longer they may take to heal. (Phone or In-Person)
Nutrition Consultation, Initial or Follow-Up / 45 minutes / $80
Nutrition consultation is helpful for most patients dealing with chronic symptoms or chronic illness. It is particularly beneficial for people with gut or gastrointestinal issues as well as autoimmune disease. Kirsten Ramsdell, Certified Nutritionist, will take time to understand your individual nutritional needs, stumbling blocks, and provide accountability as you make changes.
Laboratory Testing / approx. $500 - $1500
Our specialized lab testing is billed through individual lab providers, and may or may not be covered by insurance. Most patients can expect to spend $500 to $1500 on lab testing during the case review process, depending on the complexity of their condition. We will provide any insurance information to lab providers, and if labs are contracted with your insurance directly, they will bill them directly. You will be responsible for any charges not covered by insurance.
Supplements and Medications / Estimated $50 - $350 per month of treatment
We recommend quality, evidence-based supplements, including herbal medications and nutritional supplements, for most patients. We also prescribe pharmaceutical medications when necessary. Insurance may cover some medications.
Missed Appointment and Cancellation Fee - $75 When you schedule an appointment, we reserve that time for you. Dr. DeBell and her staff spend time preparing for your appointment. Therefore, all missed appointments, cancellations, or rescheduled visits within 24 hours of your appointment time will be charged a $75 fee.
**Shine Functional Medicine does not contract with insurance carriers. After each visit, we provide an invoice showing your diagnoses and our services, easy to download or print, on the patient portal. You may submit this invoice to request reimbursement from your insurance company. Reimbursement depends on your specific plan, including your deductible, but many patients have received at least partial reimbursement from their insurers. You may use a Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) to pay for your services.
